A Wrinkle in Time

Mark Powell makes incredible drawings on vintage envelopes dating back to 1852. He uses a simple Bic Biro pen to draw these aged faces that are as full of creases and texture as the envelopes they sit on.

Beyond the envelopes, I loved the quirky and fantastical doodles found in Mark's sketchbook. Here's a taste, they are way different than what you are seeing above.

I'd like to thank our Facebook friend Linda V. for pointing me in the direction of Mark's work (in a roundabout way). Thanks Linda and welcome to the family.

I love this stuff. I like how he has more than one style.

Your drawings indicate a heightened awareness of the older person--at a more significant depth than outer appearances.. their feelings/emotions came through. Keep going!
