Open Call / DA Coloring Book

Some exciting news! Doodlers Anonymous is printing a kids coloring book and this is our open call for submissions. Deadline is December 4th, 2009 December 2nd, 2009 and anyone can participate.

Maybe it's not so much a book as it is an over-sized zine. The page count has yet to be determined, but we want all of you to participate. The deadline is right around the corner, so go on and get started. Keep the art kid friendly, sized at 8.5x11 inches and one-color (black). Accepted submissions will be featured on DA and receive credit on their respective pages and in the table of contents.

Why a kids coloring book?

We are being sponsored by the Miami Design District to participate in their first ever kids family day. The Miami Design District is an 18-block neighborhood dedicated to art and design. On a monthly basis it hosts a gallery walk with an array of cultural, art and design presentations with this December 12th specifically dedicated to kids and families. For our part we are building an interactive doodle station, where kids will draw, paint, and chalk all over the landscapes we provide. We also have a small budget to print a kids coloring book, filled with pages of your art and some fun doodle facts. We'll pass out the coloring book (for free) to everyone that attends. After the live event, we plan to sell the coloring book on our site with a portion of the proceeds donated to the International Child Art Foundation. Have fun! And send your submissions or questions to: editor AT doodlersanonymous DOT com

It's going to be fun to see all the crazy submissions, our local readers, and the fun stuff the kids will turn out.

I'm anxious just waiting for the day to get here.
