There's A Heavy Weight On My Shoulders

When I look through our DA Flickr group, the work of Ann Pajuvšli always catches my attention. I can't help it, it's unique and modest. Something about the angle and crop of her drawings that really strike me with emotion. I especially love her collection of drawn people with stones for heads.

Color Pens Gone Wild

Mossi's markers make quick, short strokes of color that run into each other to create random shapes (and sometimes faces) born from his subconscious. Look closely and you'll be staring into a trippy collection of intricate lines and patterns, making it impossible to follow, but easy to love.

Pens, Paper, Colored Tape, and Stickers

What can I say? I'm a sucker for this type of art. Naomi Vona is an Italian artist living in Dublin, who reinterprets vintage found photos with simple lines, circles and marks of color. Of course she's not the first to do it, but it always boils down to the composition of the artwork for me and she's got it down quite well. Take a look through her flickr archive to see how her style has evolved.

Ridiculous Skill

I know sketchbooks, I obsess over them. And every once in a while I run into one that deserves its insides to be printed, framed and put in front of your eyes. Every single spread in Josť Azevado's sketchbook is colored and drawn with such intensity, it's as if his markers and pens are on steroids, two Red Bulls, and one delicious Cherry Starburst for good measure.
