From Doodle to Shoe!

As someone who draws in his sketchbook every single day, it's incredibly satisfying when an opportunity presents itself to bring those doodles to life. A little over a year ago I drew up some geometric shapes, turned them into a vector pattern, and submitted them to Bucketfeet (along with many other artists) for consideration into their Spring 2015 collection.

Bucketfeet is a brand that makes beautifully illustrated artist designed canvas shoes. They support artists from around the world, and I'm thrilled to announce that they've selected my "Asteroids" design for their catalog. It's now available for sale on their website and comes in two versions: laces or slip-on. They've also been kind enough to extend an awesome 20% discount (for my shoes or any other pair in their shop) to all Doodlers Anonymous fans, just use discount code OKAT20 at checkout.

You can become an artist for them as well. They are always looking for the next cool design, just follow this link to join the Bucketfeet Artist Network and get the process started.

Magna Doodle, I Love You

No joke, I enjoy my kids magna doodle toy more than they do. If it's anywhere near me, there's no doubt it will quickly end up in my hands for hours. It's the perfect doodle toy. You can't save, you can't undo and you can't even partly erase. There's no room for accuracy or moments of hesitation. In fact half the time the tied-up stylus hardly reaches all corners of the board.

And that's exactly what makes it so great. I scribbled the above a few days ago and then I found some other great examples on Flickr. Enjoy, and make sure to go buy yourself one (even if the pitter-patter of little feet don't fill your home).

Cardboard Doodle Box

Lost about thirty minutes of work over at David Hofmann's website doodling with his box doodle tool. You can use the online program (like we did with Going Under and Pimp Robo) or bust out your own box and rearrange it to make any kind of figure or object.

Above boxes by Nine Fluitsma and David Fullarton.

A Calendar of Faces

On a random week in August, I doodled the face of one person on the day we met. Nothing more, nothing less.
