Thick Strokes

Amelie Petit Moreau was born on a sunny afternoon in 1987. The style of her ink on paper sketches reminds me of primitive cave drawings - thick strokes suggesting shapes and figures. But her work is sexy in its roughness, even when the subject is a kitchen sink or a box on a pedestal table.

Quiet Rocks

I am looking through the art of Susanna Sundman and am incredibly fascinated by how soft her lines and marks are. I want to take off my shoes and socks and sit amidst the landscape.

Shut everything off and join me for a few minutes. Look through her artwork and dream of being there right now.

Paint the Town

Martha Rushworth runs around sketching parts of her town, or maybe it's more walk than run. Actually she probably just stands still and sketches, adds color, then continues on her merry way. No matter the method, it's the color palette she uses that has me so fascinated. Look at how bright and wonderful it completes her thinly drawn lines. I want to live in a Hollywood set made of these drawings. Make it happen.

Release Me

There is no escape for the characters drawn by Dimas Forchetti. Each one is locked in by the roots of their own misfortune, as the lines twist, turn and intertwine with one another.

March's Guest Contributor:
Vincent Griffin

Most days when I post inspiration on Doodlers Anonymous, it's because I discovered an artist doing something so incredibly different than my own style, that I just want to share them with everyone. Other times, I discover an artist whose style is so familiar to me, that I practically connect to each and every one of their drawings.

In this case, it was with Vincent Griffin's work. I've been following his feed on Instagram and quickly realized how often I "like" one of his images. We only exchanged a few emails, but I immediately knew he would be a great fit to guest write for the month of March.

He gladly accepted.

Vincent works in Little Rock, Arkansas as an illustrator and part-times it playing music in two different bands (or music collectives as he called them). He lives on Instagram and posts completed works on Land and Shape. Here are some of my favorites, but I really just wanted to post all of his work.

Do You Have Protection?

The sketchbook of Jabson Rodrigues is exploding with sexuality. The drawings are erotic, playful and composed of bold and exact lines. You'll find some of his work on the streets of Brazil, but until then visit his flickr for a peek into some well drawn sensuality.

Lovely Lines

Clean and nice lines from Gwendoline Desnoyers take me back to simplicity of Giotto and Brueghel. She has manage to express so much with so little and her use of empty space is such a lovely thing to see. Using the same simple lines, Gwendoline also makes beautiful collages with a gentle use of colors just enough to make you feel the elusive space around her characters and shapes. Now, take a look at this wonderful works and try not to like it.

She also has a nice blog where you can find even more amazing works from this young artist.
