Going Postal

Every now and then I enjoy a fun trip down memory lane. This time, my travels were courtesy of Danny Martin and his movie characters drawn on US Postal Service stickers. I'm loving the texture the stickers added to the black and white drawings of some of my favorite movies from when I was a teenager (The Thing, Big Trouble in Little China, Ghostbusters) as well as a recent favorite (There Will Be Blood). Go take a gander, no postage stamp required.

Sidewalk Scribble

Animator/Filmmaker Peter Lowey from Australia does an incredible job on this short film. Give it a play, I've already watched it three times this morning.

He Thinks A Lot

A sad film about Gregor by Petra Zlonoga. I think it's perfectly drawn and executed for her first hand-drawn film. I especially like the squiggly lines that turn to thoughts, pets, and even green cars.

The Case of the Independent Poster

The movie poster for The Pleasure of Being Robbed got my attention while I was looking at trailers for upcoming movies. Did a bit of research and discovered the company behind the movie is Red Bucket Films.

Not only did they commit to a promotional poster made up of an illustration, their own company website is doodle heaven. The entire site's content is represented through the pages of a sketch book. Impressive and fun all the same... giving us high hopes for the movie of course.
