Not All Drawn Objects Are Created Equal

When I doodle and draw, my preference is to make it of something tangible. I am partial to simple, ordinary, everyday objects. This is the very reason I am falling for the bold lines and shapes of Sofia's drawn vases. I wish they were real, sitting up on my window sill.

Sofia Schizas is also a master of craft, making things under the name of Hey Sosi. You're crazy if you don't want one of her "Cosmic Cushions."

This Is Some Awesome Visual Stimuli

I just got my ass kicked by the chaos of color that is the world of Leanna Perry. My eyes are still twitching and now fully stimulated from browsing through her image feed. I love the bold palette she uses to impact each line streaking across the page. Blah, blah, blah, never mind what I have to say, the work speaks for itself. Look »

The Art of Homeless Cop

I came across Homeless Cop through a friend on Facebook. He introduced us and I was a fan right out the gate. At first glance I thought his works were all vector illustrations but as it turns out they are actually oil paintings! The lines are so crisp and clean and the colors so amazing and bold. I was insanely impressed with his work. I caught up with him recently and asked him a few questions. I hope you all enjoy! Read the full interview »

Ricardo's Wild Art

Everything is said when you look at Ricardo Cavolo's work. With its strong colours, his pieces are powerful, fast and fresh. This guy's got the lot.

I saw that DA featured him in a post a few years ago, but I think that he deserves a refresh to see the evolution of his work.

Plus, I finally got to meet him at my last exhibition in Madrid and can honestly say that he is a lovely person.

Thick Strokes

Amelie Petit Moreau was born on a sunny afternoon in 1987. The style of her ink on paper sketches reminds me of primitive cave drawings - thick strokes suggesting shapes and figures. But her work is sexy in its roughness, even when the subject is a kitchen sink or a box on a pedestal table.

Sky is a Bowl

I can't recall exactly how I came to find Miguel's work…but I know that once I found it I immediately bookmarked it so I would always be able to go back to it. The playful nature in the forms, the way he interpreted movements, expressions and colors grabbed me instantly and set into motion my imagination.

Having become friends with Miguel I can see a lot of his heritage fused into his playful drawings. Each line has a purpose, every character is loose and full of life. It's such a rarity to find artists / illustrators / designers who throw care to the wind and let there hands do the talking and who are excited about sharing / creating.

Do You Have Protection?

The sketchbook of Jabson Rodrigues is exploding with sexuality. The drawings are erotic, playful and composed of bold and exact lines. You'll find some of his work on the streets of Brazil, but until then visit his flickr for a peek into some well drawn sensuality.
