Magical Doodle Vines

Like a song I could listen to over and over, I’m stuck watching Pinot’s vines on repeat. This Indonesian artist’s channel is full of speedy process videos that are are an absolute delight to watch. It’s more than just watching him draw, though. Pinot always starts from scratch, beginning with a blank paper and telling fun visual stories along the way. Many incorporate elements from the world around the paper, making doodles that literally come off the page. It's amazing to think of how challenging it must be to not only draw and record these concepts, but to have only a few seconds to execute them. Each one is like watching a magic illusion unfolding before your very eyes!

Illustrated Boobies Bring Awareness to Breast Cancer

A playful and creative way to bring attention and awareness to breast cancer, the Alphabreast illustration project was created to celebrate all breasts and to keep them healthy. My favorites may be the Total Recall, Lactating, Kinky, and Femm Bot breast animations... wait, I love the Glittery, Queer, and Asymetrical ones too... and of course the pierced and inked... and... well... all the boobies are beautiful. Be sure to click on over to their website to see the bouncy animations for a cause, and consider donating $5 to F*#k Cancer and support your favorite pair of boobs. Click through and interact with all the goodies. Save the Tatas!

Alternate Doodle Universe

Usually sequels arenít as good as the first, but thatís SO not the case here. I wrote a post about Aug(de)mented Reality a few months ago and now itís back with a vengeance. I canít imagine what people think Marty Cooper (or Hombre_McSteez as he goes by online) is doing when they see him sitting in front of a stop sign, completely concentrated on it and holding up transparency sheets every so often. Itís so cool to see artists making doodles on the spot when inspiration from their surroundings hits them!

This is a compilation of animations he posted on instagram, so follow @Hombre_McSteez to keep up with his newest stuff.

Doodles in Incredible Stop-Motion

What can you do in 15 seconds? Rachel Ryle is able to create miniature stop motion masterpieces that are so dainty and so irresistible. I watched and re-watched, and like a magic act, I'm dying to know how she pulls this off, but at the same time just enjoy relishing in the wonder and gaiety of her art. She's able to articulate the joy in life's simple pleasures, from warm fall cider to traveling to bubble gum, in the most delicate, painstakingly-detailed and creative way.

Doodles + Transparency Sheets = MAGIC

Aug(De)Mented Reality is a fresh video that's recently been getting passed along the internet, and for hella good reasons. Hombre_McSteez combines traditional cell animation with still photography from his iPhone into one of the most captivating videos I've seen lately. It's always super cool to see 2D drawings roaming the 3D world, but seeing the real objects and landscapes responding to being played around with is what really makes this video come alive. We couldn't resist sharing something this perfectly executed.

Follow @Hombre_McSteez on Instagram to see more animations weekly!

Journey of a Tiny Explorer

Umbra is a hand drawn animation, a mix of drawing and pastel, that I came across about a year ago. It is still one of my favorites. Simple drawings with such a huge impact. The animation conveys such great emotion. I must have watched this a million times. I have a little folder in my bookmarks for links to watch when feeling a little in the dumps creatively. This video is at the top of the list. I hope you love it as much as I do.

Wonderfully Charming Drawn GIFs

I've had this in my bookmarks to share for a while, and I truly regret not posting about it earlier. It's a beautiful collection of animated GIFs made with the soft lines from colored pencils. The clips themselves are these fantastically awkward loops of people doing common things. Check out the Tumblr site, I guarantee you'll fall for this project by Thoka Maer.
