Fan Mail, Part VIII

We love it when we get fan mail and this one in particular is out of the ordinary. It came as mail, literally. That's rare form these days and it's a beauty too.

Café con Leche (coffee with milk) is the imaginary home of Roi and Inés from Mexico City. Their website is filled to the brim with drawings, animations and endless goodies, so stop on by and give them some love.

We are so thrilled with the postcard. Next time we're in Mexico, we'll have to share a cafécito!

Fan Mail, Part VII

Got the above image in an email this morning from Julie Quigley. In it she also confesses to loving Doodlers Anonymous and links to a blog of hers with a ton more doodled eggs. Quite appropriate with the Easter holiday approaching this weekend. You'd be lucky to go on an egg hunt for these pretty things.

Fan Mail, Part VI

Visit Gizem Vural's tumblr blog for a visual diary into her life as a graphic design student living in Istanbul, Turkey. Her sketches speak volumes of her day-to-day and I especially like that we get to see her process from sketch to final. See more »

Fan Mail, Part V

Received a nice note from Zak Jensen with heads up on an in-progress zine (above) by some of his talented buddies. View the zine and then take sometime to check their sites, as they each deserve some attention in their own right. In his words:

"Hey, just found your site and love it. I wanted to share some people's work that I thought you may be interested in. My buddies Jonathan Sandridge, Chris Partelo, Deke Smith, and Greg Comollo are working together and independently on some nice doodles and collages."

Fan Mail, Part IV

Extra, extra, read all about it: Larry Roibal doodles people in the news right over their related newspaper article and does it, incessantly.

"Individually, these doodles are nothing special, but as a group start to become something greater than a sum of their parts, a myopic view of events, doodled over my morning coffee, represented by a face with the underlying text peaking out from my doodles." See some recent headlines »

Fan Mail, Part III

Tuomas writes in to tell me of a doodle blog he's keeping with a friend. I like that there are no words or captions with the drawings, just one long page that scrolls and scrolls through their drawn journeys. See more »

Fan Mail, Part II

Plenty of lines, ink, scribbles and stickers. That defines the work of Leonardo Flores from Argentina, living in Barcelona. His Moleskine drawings are impossible to look away from. See what I mean »
