Morgan Goes Pacific

I just found out that Morgan Blair will be having an art show in San Diego. For those of you lucky enough to be in Southern California on August 14 and 15, go check out the inaugural exhibition of Sezio's artist exchange program where Morgan will have various installations and will also complete a large-scale painting. It will be held at Luce Loft and is appropriately titled "Brain Glamor." If you go, take pictures and send them our way. Also, know that I will be jealous.

For a refresher on Morgan, click here or visit her site again.

Chris Piascik at Chorus Gallery

Friend and DA featured artist Chris Piascik, has a solo show opening this Saturday. We are big fans of Chris and understand he'll be showing off a number of brand new, large format paintings. The show hangs until July 10th, but we'd love for you to make the opening June 13th from 8 to 11pm at Chorus Gallery.

See more of Chris on flickr and chrispiascik.com.

Pencil Pushers

It seems like San Francisco is the place to be. Giant Robot in SF presented and held the opening reception of "Pencil Pushers" this past weekend (May 16). For this show, a diverse group of artists were challenged to create works with the simplest medium of all: graphite. If you're lucky enough to be around that area, rush over there. You have until June 17.

London Zine Symposium

So I visited the London zine symposium on Sunday. It was immense fun! Thousands of handmade zines and comics and artwork. I loaded up my backpack as fat as it could get. It's like candyland for me... could not have been more excited.

Also recognized a lot of the artwork from random internet blogs so i made a lot of friends there :)

My favourite zines/doodlers of the day: lizzlizz and ninja bunny.

Sketch On The Spot

On the last Tuesday of every month, a group of artists gather together to sketch, doodle and paint, then pin their work on a wall, and make the very affordable art for sale to the public. Sketch Tuesday's at 111 Mina Street in San Francisco. Found via Fecal Face.

You've Got Light in Your Eyes

Some of our favorite artists are coming together in a group show curated by Meighan O'Toole (of my love for you is a stampede of horses fame), including previous Doodlers Anonymous featured artist Kate Bingaman-Burt and other notables like Will Bryant, Kenn Goodall, Know Hope and Olivia Jeffries (see the full list of participants). This is a rare treat, so get your ass to the opening: Saturday, May 2nd, 2009 at Needles + Pens in San Francisco.

David Fullarton Gallery Pics

Last month we did a feature on David Fullarton and made mention of his opening at Hang Art in San Francisco. This month we have 15 photos from the gallery opening courtesy of my lovely sister and her residence on the West Coast. Enjoy the show
