In a Sea of Sketchbooks

If you like to sketch and you don't already know the work of the wonderfully talented Lapin, then you best start getting familiar with him. He's a force to be reckon with. The above photo was taken while standing on a ladder and conveys (more or less) every drawn sketchbook of his.

Simply, WOW. This deserves to be faved, tumbled and ffffound by every member of DA. You can follow him on blogspot.

Related: Lapin was our 7th featured artist and has also done up one of our favorite doodle addict t-shirts.

Feeding the Forest Ghost

I love doing walls and especially if they are in some old, deserted ambient. So I was amazed the other day when I found this beautiful collaboration between Otecki and Szum.

For me this is a perfect example of making something that can at the same time live a life of its own and be in complete harmony with its surroundings. Jump to their flickr pages and find more amazing works from these two guys!

Angry Dogs

You like Quentin Tarantino? Addicted to "Angry Birds?" Then this excellent little drawing by Lee Crutchley might put a smile on your face, as it did mine.

I'm Back to Save the Universe

I can't help but love this illustration made for one of my favorite bands. The above is part of a poster created by Aldis Ozolins for a Radiohead concert that was printed using a woodcut, 3-layer silk screen on reeves bfk tan paper. Zoom out to see the whole thing.

Next Time No Junk

Last week, Okat and I met to catch up and discuss our plans for DA. And in true DA form, we drew together inside one of his sketchbooks. I know, how appropriate. Our meet-up consisted of a couple of micron pens, some ridiculously cheap markers and to top it all off, cold beer and laughter. It was a good day, and what do we have to show for it? This all over the place, colorful, I-Don't-Get-It collaborative doodle.
