From Doodle to Shoe!

As someone who draws in his sketchbook every single day, it's incredibly satisfying when an opportunity presents itself to bring those doodles to life. A little over a year ago I drew up some geometric shapes, turned them into a vector pattern, and submitted them to Bucketfeet (along with many other artists) for consideration into their Spring 2015 collection.

Bucketfeet is a brand that makes beautifully illustrated artist designed canvas shoes. They support artists from around the world, and I'm thrilled to announce that they've selected my "Asteroids" design for their catalog. It's now available for sale on their website and comes in two versions: laces or slip-on. They've also been kind enough to extend an awesome 20% discount (for my shoes or any other pair in their shop) to all Doodlers Anonymous fans, just use discount code OKAT20 at checkout.

You can become an artist for them as well. They are always looking for the next cool design, just follow this link to join the Bucketfeet Artist Network and get the process started.

Oodles of Doodles

Hello everyone! Today I would like to share with you some of my own personal doodles and drawings that I have been working on recently. I will have a spread in an upcoming issue of Color Ink Book and have been working hard on new drawings for it. My favorite is my little twist on The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein: "The Giving Boy". He was a huge influence on me as a kid. I would check his books out at the school library and practice drawing by copying his artwork.

I've also been working on a series of 15 new paintings/drawings for an upcoming exhibition in Houston, Texas. I am doing all the paintings in the same neon color scheme. I hope you enjoy and here's to another super productive week! Keep on doodling! Continue reading

In a Sea of Sketchbooks

If you like to sketch and you don't already know the work of the wonderfully talented Lapin, then you best start getting familiar with him. He's a force to be reckon with. The above photo was taken while standing on a ladder and conveys (more or less) every drawn sketchbook of his.

Simply, WOW. This deserves to be faved, tumbled and ffffound by every member of DA. You can follow him on blogspot.

Related: Lapin was our 7th featured artist and has also done up one of our favorite doodle addict t-shirts.

Feeding the Forest Ghost

I love doing walls and especially if they are in some old, deserted ambient. So I was amazed the other day when I found this beautiful collaboration between Otecki and Szum.

For me this is a perfect example of making something that can at the same time live a life of its own and be in complete harmony with its surroundings. Jump to their flickr pages and find more amazing works from these two guys!

Angry Dogs

You like Quentin Tarantino? Addicted to "Angry Birds?" Then this excellent little drawing by Lee Crutchley might put a smile on your face, as it did mine.
