Bathroom Graffiti

Mark Ferem's Bathroom Graffiti book is a showcase of, you guessed it, the art and words that line our public restrooms. Mark spent several years collecting and compiling photographs of exceptional bathroom art. And when you flip past the pages of typical expressions like "call me for a good time", you'll discover a section devoted to doodles drawn during our most private and intimate moments.

Draw on New York City Walls

"Walls Notebook is a notebook / sketchbook with 80 "clean" New York City walls as your blank slate. Write, draw, paste, or doodle on these interesting and inspirational backdrops. You'll be one step closer to being the graffiti artist you've always wanted to be... minus the jail time." -- via think of the.

Brain Trust

Brain Trust is a compilation of collaborative drawings between Peter Thompson and James Kirkpatrick. Peter is a master doodler and James is a graffiti artist and you can clearly see the distinction in their backgrounds come through creating a whole new unmistakable style. Really worth the $15. You can get it here.

Giveaway: An Awesome Book!

A few days back I discovered the pages of Dallas Clayton's An Awesome Book! It's 64 pages of beautiful, full color illustrations (see inside the book) that speak to those who care to dream. That should include you, you and you. It opens with the words, "There are places in the world where people do not dream..." and transitions to drawings of rocket-powered unicorns and candy-cane machines.

This awesome book is currently available for pre-order (as it releases late January), but we got our hands on 3 signed copies to giveaway. All you have to do is leave a comment below answering the question: What is your dream?

Comments will stay open until Tuesday at 11am EST and then we'll randomly draw 3 names. For those of you that want extra credit, doodle your answer and email it to: editor {at} doodlersanonymous {dot} com

As always, if you are fond of these kinds of giveaways, be notified of the next one by subscribing to our RSS and twitter feed.

UPDATE: Alright everyone, comments are now closed for the giveaway. Thanks to all 76 of you for participating, we'll be drawing three winning names tomorrow morning. Good luck, and now go watch the inauguration.

Presidential Doodles Book

While browsing at my local Barnes and Noble for a gift during the holidays, by sheer luck I found a Presidential Doodles book lying next to Miami: Then and Now (one of my favorite photo books). Inside, there were doodles drawn by Ronald Reagan, FDR, JFK, George Washington, and other presidential heavy weights. You can clearly see a cultural difference between the drawings of George Washington (mathematical doodles) and say, Ronald Reagan (cowboy doodles). I'm hoping to pick this baby up in the coming weeks after the Christmas aftershock.

Above by George Washington and John Quincy Adams.

Mail Me Art

Mail Me Art is a British-based project run by Darren Di Lieto. In the course of a year, Darren had artists, both professional and amateur, send him packages in the form of art. The tremendous variety of styles and media that were sent in is incredible - from postcards and envelopes to boxes and pieces of wood. You can preview some of them here.

An Illustrated Life

Danny Gregory has been looking for a certain type of book his entire life, a book filled with sketchbooks and illustrated journals from all sorts of people. Because he never found it, he put it together himself. In "An Illustrated Life," you see impressions made by people who worked without judgment. It's 260-some odd pages worth spending your time with. Preview it here.
